In terms of "what's new," the Harassment Policy is intended to comply with recent amendments to Nova Scotia's聽Occupational Health and Safety Act聽that will come into force in September 2025.

The Discrimination Policy is mainly a refresh of its predecessor (Statement of Prohibited Discrimination). The new Policy sticks closely to requirements and definitions in Nova Scotia's聽Human Rights Act聽and applies them to the University context. A forthcoming draft Racialized Violence Policy will elaborate University commitments and procedures with respect to individual and systemic discrimination on the bases of race, ethnicity, national and aboriginal origin.

All feedback regarding the draft Discrimination and Harassment Policies聽must be received on or before聽April 14, 2025.
