From September 23-30, 2023, community, professionals, academics, community groups and members, will join together for a week-long festival to support and nurture grief literacy in communities across the province of Nova Scotia.
Good Grief, Nova Scotia! aims to increase knowledge about grief and attend to the loneliness that comes with grieving. Organized by a team led by Dr. Mary Ellen Macdonald, the J & W Murphy Foundation Endowed Chair in Palliative Care at 91探花平台, festival activities include a one-day grief literacy conference on September 30 on campus at Dalhousie, a Caf茅 Scientifique hosted at the Halifax Central Library, a live recording of Sickboy, a CBC Podcast, various other in-person and virtual events, and even a hike for those who have lost much-loved pets.
The festival is made possible from the generous support of organizations including the J & W Murphy Foundation, the Canadian Institute for Health Research (CIHR), the QEII Foundation, and Hospice Halifax.
